Project Information

After looking at all the cross cut sleds out there and having had a few of my own, I really wanted to make one that was functional and would help speed up production. I looked online and was unable to find what I was looking for, so I designed and built this. It has built in tracks for accessories, along with a Kreg precision track with a modified stop. I added several safety features to help save my fingers. This is great for cross cutting, as it has a built in precision tape measure down to the 32nd of an inch. I am posting a link to the youtube video that shows how this is made.

Shan, nice looking sled and I am sure it will serve you well with your projects. That being said I would ask what likely is a dumb question. I see you used bought miter slider that will accurately fill your miter slot. If you were using homemade miter slide I could understand using two, but with the bought sliders is two really necessary on the sled?

2 sliders guarantees that there will be zero play. I could have probably gotten by with one, but for an additional $20 I don't have to worry about movement. Perfect cuts every time.

Nice job!
Where did you get the sliders for $20? I want to grab a couple for a new sled.

Shan, how did you locate the adjustment holes ontop the top? I have had these incra miter sliders for several years meaning to build a crosscut sled and am finally getting around to it. I hadn't even considered that particular issue with them with the adjustments being on top.
