Project Information

This is a miter sled that I built because I was sick and tired of cutting miters that had gaps. As you can see now, no gaps in this new miter. I build frames for posters, so I had to make it pretty large. Each fence is two feet long with a T-slot that I routed in the face. For longer boards, just clamp an extension to the fence with a stop on it and you are in business. This sled works great from my old Powermatic Artisan TS. The funky shape is so that I could cut down on the weight. I store it by hanging it from the rafters using the holes and the end of each wing. The primary design came from Woodsmith Shop design plan that I found online at Woodsmith Miter Sled Plan.

Great looking sled!

I was wondering about clearance. How wide of a board can that design accomodate? I think I'd have to build a second sled for wider boards.

I bet you can get a perfect cut on crown molding with that beauty!

A great design!

Favorited! I won't be copying it completely, but I will be referencing it when I build a miter jig for my RAS.
