Cool effect on the legs. Very pretty but too much purple for me which is why I won't let my wife see this post, it's probably exactly what she would want.

That would be really fun looking with some harlequin inlay on the stretchers. It looks great now, but if you are going to go wild, go all the way and have fun with it.

I believe the diagonal transition from curly maple to purpleheart, in the legs, was probably the result of my inexperience using the tapering jig. But, once it was done, my wife rather liked it.

I would love to try my hand at some inlay work, eventually. I agree that it would add sophistication and artistry to a project like this.
