Project Information

Well, after 8 months of hard work, it is finally complete, and just in time for christmas! It stands 13 feet tall at full height but the angle will have to be adjusted to fit in my Dad's 9' high ceiling in his office. It is made of Walnut, Maple with a little beech and birch here and there. The next challenge will be transporting it to my dad's office.

Merry Christmas!

EEE Doggies. That is impressive. I would say the wood shop teacher should go to the crane.

That is an amazing accomplishment! But I would like it better if I didn't have to tilt my computer to see it. Just a helpful suggestion. Thanks for showing this.

Ryan, This is quite remarkable and shows a lot of talent in such a young person. You're still in High School? We'll all be looking forward to seeing what you turn out in the years to come. I'm sure your Dad will love it.

This is a project right after my heart. I am currently doing research on building a Liebherr Top Slewing crane. We have 7 of them on our work site and I want to build one for my office. How old are you? You mentioned school. I hope to keep in touch with you and share my experience, sure you can help an old man out.

Thank-for your nice compliments. For those who are wondering, i am 15 and am in grade 10 ( it is my fist year of high school). I took woodworking is grade 7 and learned how to make animal puzzles. Then in great 8 woodworkin I taught myself how to do fretwork and intarsia which the other students had never even herd of. And that year I got 100 percent in woodworking. Next month i will be taking woodworking in high school And learn jointery ( which is a subject I haven't even touched on) so i am excited for that.I appoligise for the formats of the photos, I will try to figure out a way to get them strait in the future. Again, thanks alot for your compliments!

I thought that was very cool when I saw it as a work in progress in your workshop pictures. I think it is even cooler now. That's a show stopper.
