Project Information

Each year I make something for my 8 colleagues in our medical practice. I was at a bit of a loss as to what to make this year until I saw Stevinmarin's wonderful video on these little tea light holders. As I was making them in my shop, I started lining them up quite by accident. When I looked at them as a group, the last picture was what I saw! So my thumbnail is the group after finishing and putting candles in each. The stands are made from either mahogany, purpleheart or cherry. The tops are contrasting woods. They are about 10 inches long and 2 1/2 inches high. I finished them in 3 coats of poly. They were quite easy to make at a time when everyone is busy.
I would encourage anyone looking for a quick and simple gift to check out Steve's video. He is both instructive and entertaining. A great big thank you from me to Steve for giving me the idea. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
Thanks for looking.
Ellen

You just keep providing me with ideas, Ellen, Thanks!!

BTW, your oil and bread boards were a super hit with the nurses at my doctors office. I made a loaf of crusty french bread to go along with each one. Thanks for the idea!

Hey Ellen,

Wow, you win the overachiever award! Haha…those look great! Thanks for the kind words. I find it very gratifying how many people have been making that project. I really didn't think much of it at the time, but I am giving one to my mom for Christmas.

Steve
