I grew up in the small town of Shepherd, Montana. A lot of my youth was spent in the outdoors hunting, fishing, trapping, and camping. I love anything outdoors. At around age 10 i started trapping and immediately fell in love with it. I also ride motorcycles. I havent raced for a couple years though. When i got into junior high i started taking woodshop classes. I had a hard time making projects come out square and the teacher wouldnt help me much so i gave up on woodworking for the next two years. When i was a freshman in high school, the school hired a gentleman to do some drywall work in the shop. After he was there for a week he called me over to him. He asked me why i was just goofing off and wasnt building something. I explained how i didnt know very much and how frustrated it made me that noone would teach me. He suggested trying to make something on the scrollsaw. He took me over to it and showed me how to use it. He then drew me up a simple pattern to practice with. Instantly i was hooked. I loved it! Pretty soon i was spending my lunch and study hall periods out in the shop doing cut outs. Ever since that day 7 years ago i have been doing fretwork. Its an awesome way to relax. I can never thank that gentleman enough for showing me the way.
I look forward to all the great people i will meet on lumberjocks. Thank you Todd for referring me to this site
