Just talked to Jesse at Eagle Tools. He told me to call Jason at Laguna and get my Laguna repaired. So called Laguna and ordered the new motor. It weighs 100 pounds. Dang that will be heavy!

Hi Cathy in paradise, I love the work you do. I wish my wife(s), 2-ex; 1-current were interested in woodworking. It would certainly promote better understanding between husband and wife. Now, it's; I work in the shop while she watches TV. The options are; we both do wood or both watch TV. I prefer the former. Next time around (I'm sure that will not happen), I'l be looking for someone who loves to do woodworking.

Wow, you are really talented. I would be lying if I said being male or female had nothing to do with it. It does a little. It is after all another lens from which that particular artist sees through, like all experiences in life end up being lenses. It definitely effects the work but not in a matter of good vs bad, just different. Very much like different forms of the same genetic snow flake or flower, both are equally beautiful but they are different. I hope that makes sense.

I love your horse carvings, they are remarkable!

Gender is immaterial, Cathy. What is important is that you enjoy what you do. This shines through in your work, which is splendid.

Thank you and I admire your work as well, especially the piece with curved legs. I just love how curves change the whole feeling of a piece and give it a personality.

Males may dominate in numbers, but it is easy to see where a good proportion of the skill and originality lies.

Good luck with your wood working

    And enjoy

I always have a high respect for women woodworkers. Having been designing and working with wood for the past 27 years, I can see that your choices in work and challenges will surprise you with beautiful results in the near future. Continue working on chairs, to combine Aesthetics, structural stability and Function ( ergonomics) in a single piece will test our skills and patience. The rocking chair that you put on your wish list is the icing on the cake. With the three challenges on designing and building a chair….... you will then have to incorporate physics. More power to you Cathy!
