Yes, I am a woman in a male dominated occupation. I loved helping my dad with projects around the house. Even though, he's gone, I am still making furniture and I don't intend to slow down any time soon. My adventure with construction started with outdoor structures, then indoor storage. One day, I bought a book about carving. For years, I carved rocking horses and carousel art. As you know, just when you get comfortable in woodworking, there's a zillion other things that you haven't even tried yet.

My next adventure was with the lathe. I took a bowl turning class and fell in love it. Bowl are great, but I enjoy spindles. I've made well over a hundred lamps and actually feel bad if i don't have a lamp sitting waiting to be turned.

From the lathe I moved to rocking chairs. I have made about twenty chairs, which led to benches. Although I make cabinets, and boxes, I prefer hands-on projects that don't involve squares or rectangles.

In 2014, I became a real estate agent. The segue from woodworking to real estate was interesting. As an artist, I must have an outlet for my creative energy. I enjoy working with clients, but it is exciting to stage a home. These days, I create furniture for staging and often sell pieces used for the sale. Cool. I don't have to pay to be in shows or fairs anymore. Nice :)

It is such a pleasure to associated with my friends at LJ, keep those saws running....
