I am a patient man.
I have been working on a job in country. Renovating an old building.
Old building are always a challenge. Usually crooked. Seldom level. Always have to be innovative to figure out how to make it look good when finished.
I have had the owners son helping for past 10 days.
10 days later….still no tape measure. Still no hammer. No pencil. No apron. Really no concept what so ever how to build anything. When he has to do something….borrow my tape measure, pencil, hammer, drill. Then when I go to cut something I am looking for my stuff ! Scaffolding is piled full of tools, loose boards, Accident waiting to happen.
Mornings are good. He sleeps till noon. I work alone and get things done. BUT. we are putting plywood and insulation in ceiling. I do need extra hands !
TODAY I learned a new tape measure number…...19inches and the black diamond ?
I shouldnt be so hard on him…..hes only 26 years old.

THINKING I am going to come up with new hourly rates.
$35 hour if I do it alone.
$45 hour if you provide me with help.

I would totally work for you. I’m sure you’d be a wealth of knowledge. You are too far, but I entertained the thought.

Have your say...
