    This information supplied by Charlie

I don't know if it has been mentioned because I don't visit here as often as I used to, but in today's local newspaper I saw an obituary for fellow lumberjock "cajunpen", aka Bill. He was one of the early members, and contributed a lot over the years. He also lived quite near me, and now I'm sorry we never got together as we often talked about.

Bill just found your profile. Clicked on it since it says cajun. I live in Uptown. Good to meet another Louisianian.

    Bill,
Absolutley amazing… I have been collecting fountain pens since age 8 when I got a couple of the old Schaeffer clear cartridge filled fountain pens with steel nibs from my great grand mother… They were so unique and smooth writing that I refused to use ball points from then on out. Living in an area with a wealth of antique stores, flea markets, and estate sales, I built up quite a collection over the years, including original duo-folds and other hard rubber pens, Schaeffer lifetime sets, Schaeffer skylines, as well as a filigree sterling silver pen/pencil set from Waterman US which I found in the back of a drawer in an old desk that was purchased at an estate sale for $20.00… Bladder filled, cartridge filled, or plunger filled, I love them all…. As I got older I lusted for newer fine writing instruments and subsequently purchased a couple through you a few years back. What an odd place to run in to you again…. :) Keep making sawdust and keep the ink flowing… fountain pens are amazing little machines… I doubt I will ever tire of them.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm a member of many online communities and this is the first time I've had so many different people actually welcome a new member. I've only recently discovered the site and I've already found it very useful for a novice woodworker. This site seems like a fantastic community and I can't wait to join in with questions, projects and someday insight.

    Thanks,

    Pat
