Thought it might be fun to see what new tools we all got for Christmas. I’ve had my eye on a Rigid Spindle Sander for awhile now and Santa must have heard me – cause I got one.

I also treated myself to a new Jacobsen Work Bench about a month ago – but I’ve waited until after Christmas to open it up, so I guess it counts as a Santa gift.

Hope everyone got just what they were hoping for. Of course it’s going to be tough to top that great new shop that Calgirl got :-)

Inspired by Blakes Incra blog, I found myself a Incra v27 miter gage at Rockler. On sale for $49.
Haven’t tried it yet, nor have I told-me-wife-Peggy >grins<

Got myself the Ridig sander for Christmas also. Works great! I really like that I can sand end grain without burning it. This will be a big help for sanding the peices for the segmented turnings that I do. I do have two questions for those who already own this sander and that is what does the wearplate do and what is the proper adjustment for it?

A Veritas block plane. Boy is it sweet.
A Kreg pocket screw set. Still seems like cheating.
A hard hat. I have not figured this one out.

Mrs, Claus got me the power carver on my Woodcraft wish list. Now all I have to do is find some talent to go with it.

I got a vacuum attachment to my Leigh Dovetail Jig.

And I also got some hand tools that will turn into a gift certificate so i can get what I need/want.

The pastor at church said last Sunday when buying gifts for your wife ”Buy it in petite and save the receipt.”

My wife and i do something like that. She buys me something and gives me the receipt.

As I purchased my Christmas gift a few weeks ago (a Bench Dog cast-iron router table extension wing) on clearance at Woodcraft, I wasn’t expecting much. And while it isn’t a tool, I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened a gift and found a new “” hooded sweatshirt! Do I have an awesome wife, or what?
