Wynn Environmental filter OR not? - 20 replies

I have the Harbor Freight dust collector and thought about upgrading the filter to the Wynn filter. My question is this… If my dust collector is in a closet with a filtered return to the shop do I need the Wynn filter? If the collector is just sitting out in the open shop I can understand having a better filter, but if it’s closed up...

Shop heating and cooling - 4 replies

Can I place a window A/C unit in an interior wall instead of a window? I’m trying to avoid any noise escaping the shop envelope for respect for my neighbors. I would prefer a mini split system, but the funds aren’t there right now. My idea is to install a window unit in an opening in my small bathroom wall with a return vent into the...

LEAD paint??? - 2 replies

I have an old door with the original knob and hardware, that still works, that I’d like to use in my shop as a functional door to my dust closet. It’s probably from the 50’s and I’m guessing the paint is lead paint. Can I just paint over the door instead of trying to sand or scrap it off?

Shop floor - RAW CONCRETE - 19 replies

My shop floor is raw concrete and is about 9 months old with just a trowel finish (semi-rough). Do I NEED to seal it, paint it or anything? Will moisture work its way up through the concrete into my shop? I really hate painting and frankly I don’t want to have to move everything out. If leaving the shop floor in it’s raw form and the...

NEW Woodshop layout advice... - 61 replies

Ok guys… I need your honest opinion here. I have finished my shop build (just the shell). Now I’m in the process of starting the inside. Take a look at the draft of the current layout that I’m thinking of using. I have been using Grizzly’s shop planner and have changed things a hundred times, but I think I have found my f...

New Delta 36-725 OR Bosch?? - 24 replies

I’m in the market for my first table saw and I’ve been looking around on the List, but haven’t found exactly what I’m looking for so I went to the blue box store and the new Delta 36-725 caught my eye. I also like anything Bosch, so the 4100-09 is also a contender. They are two different type saws, but I can’t reall...
