i have a shop smith mark V, that i got when my wife grandfather passed. It is been kept in great shape he bought it in 94 when he retired. when i got it he had just about every thing you could get with it at that time minus a few add-on that.

the issue I’m having with it is when i use the saw i can’t get a straight cut to save my life. i have read other forums and videos on the common issues and fixes with it. so it fixed part of the problems with the cuts when i use it at “0” or 90 degree. if it use it at any other angel it cut crooked. i tore down the head unit cleaned and lubed it up everything was good there i measured the spindle to see it if was bent, also did this when it was assembled with a micrometer. everything is when in a reasonable measurement.

i’m sure this is a easy problem to fix. thanks in advance.

When you say it “cuts crooked” could you be a little more explicit? Is the cut not straight? Is it cutting off the line when you crosscut? Are you using the fence or the miter gauge? I’ve had 2 Shopsmiths (down to 1 now) and they both cut perfectly. But there are a lot of ways to cut crooked.
