Mirock's Workshop Time Laps #1: Tool-pulling Long Wall Side Table

06-04-2017 07:02 PM by mirock | 7 comments »

Hello guys. I brought to my shop new machine and deficite of place become more perceptible. I was thinking about conception of my workspace and understand I was wrong with this table. I’ve came to idea that it is absolutely useless as worktable. All work anyway occured on central worktable and these tables always turned to tool storage…not so convenient storage. All this could be kept on shelves and wallholders but step by step tools migrate to table and lay there...

Woodworking on a Half-Shoestring #83: The Dungeon Workshop - Scroll Saw Table

11-02-2016 07:39 PM by retired_guru | 2 comments »

The last shop bench or table to be made is now complete. I had set aside to the left of the refurbished Blue Hawk router table enough space for a narrow table. Construction started this past Saturday. I wanted it to be simple in design, using reclaimed lumber I had laying around on the premises. I also wanted it to be a generic design, just in case this old scroll saw of mine turns out to be a bad investment. This meant allowing ample leg room under the table from the ends as well as from ...

The caster jacks gave me trouble all the way to the end – until I realized that the lift-jack simplifies and fixes everything (<<< turn your speakers up – the volume on this is pretty poor. Sorry – it was shot with my iPhone.) I edged the tabletop and flip-up wing...

Work Table #2: She's finished . . . for now that is.

03-22-2011 01:02 PM by AmandasHusband | 1 comment »

I was able to finish up my work table this weekend. Well, all but chamfering or rounding over the edges. I took thursday and friday off. Friday because it was beautiful. And thursday (St. Patricks Day) because it was my daughters 2nd birthday. But I got up early on thursday and made it out to pick up a couple sheets of 3/4” plywood, a plywood blade for my circular saw, and oak for the edges. While I was cutting the plywood down on friday afternoon, I either burnt up my saw or com...

Work Table #1: The Base

03-07-2011 04:59 PM by AmandasHusband | 1 comment »

Just before I went to buy that stuff for my daughters toddler bed, I was thumbing through this magazine I bought a couple years ago. One of those “greatest projects” magazines you see at the register at Lowes or Home Depot. Anyway, I saw a plan for a work table I thought was pretty basic, fit my needs, and would be something I could do on a Saturday. So I bought the 16 carriage bolts, three 2×6’s, and four 2×4’s I needed that day along with the toddler bed...
