Tools #4: Nova DVR-XP Standing Coin Test - VIDEO

Just for giggles, I did a standing coin test with the Nova DVR-XP. Many of you know, this is a new toy…er tool to my shop. I haven’t gotten a lot of time to enjoy it, but I have done a few things. The lathe is fantastic, smooth, lots of power and is a significant upgrade to the lathe I had before. Horizontal Router Table

I recently had the pleasure of reviewing and making a video for the MLCS horizontal router table. In this video, I show how to make Mortises and Tenons easily on this machine. Also covered in the video is raised panels, crown molding and custom molding. The machine is nice, and definitely as some advantages. Making raised panels or molding is similar to the action of using a jointer. You are passing the work over the bit with downward pressure. It feels much safer than standing it on it...

Well, its going to be a long afternoon and evening as I am excited to “press on” and start my first veneering project. I am going to veneer a small panel as an experiment to see how the process works. I purchased a couple of veneer packs on sale at Rockler to use in my experiment.
