I found this sander on Creaglist a few weeks ago—-Old state spindle sander, 3 phase, needs repair (bearings?) $300.00
I have been looking for an oscillating spindle sander but I didn’t want one from the big box stores. This one fit the bill but not running and it has a 3 phase motor. I had an unusual experience yesterday that is leading me to take an unexpected break from woodworking. Now, I only expect this break to last a few days, so no need to worry. I have been turning pens for a few weeks and given a few as gifts around the office. The overall favorite remains the Cigar Pen, a Penn State staple, but also available from Augum’s Pen Works and other vendors.This Cigar Pen in 24 carat gold on very well figured Redwood stock is destined for the desk of a colleague who really liked my first Cigar Pen in chrome. He’s a Gold guy, though, so I just turned this one for his holiday gift.

I took most of the day of today and traveled to Hutchinson, KS to see the exhibits and check on my entries. This was the first time I have had anything entered in the Fair since my old 4-H days, which ended many years ago.
