Dust Collector Capacitor Gone Bad

One day my Tempest cyclone dust collector wouldn’t turn on. It made some grunting noises, but never really got going. I assumed it was a start capacitor, as I’ve had that fail on other tools over time. At least I hoped that’s what was wrong. So step one was to order a new start capacitor from Grainger. The specs were 500 microfarads and 125 V. The electrical connection had to be changed from U shaped connectors to female tab connectors to fit the new capacitor. ...

I was never under any delusion that having my own woodworking business would be all fun, just making stuff from wood. All in all, it’s been about 50% of it at best so far. That’s another discussion though, esp. since I am still fully adjusting. So I finally had a significant machine failure.
