I was on a quest to acquire a couple of brass shoulder planes I had spotted a while back at an antique place (huge). And, of course, they were gone. I asked one of the dealer/ attendants about them and he remembered selling the last one. I wanted to give him an eye poke, but resisted. Instead, I found a Stanley “Bailey” No 5 smoothing plane and a Wards “Master ”, probably a No 7. I’ve begun the restoration process. The pic shows one that is nearly flattened...

I had some time to kill last Saturday and was close to a flea market so I stopped and checked it out to see what was there in the way of tools. Generally there wasn’t much there, but after trudging through much of it I found a vendor with a few planes. Most of them looked like junk, but this one stood out.
