Beltsville, Maryland - Cabinet Maker Closing Shop - Auctioning all Tools

02-21-2012 05:39 PM by McLeanVA | 2 comments »

First, let me say that I am absolutely i no way affiliated with this auction or the seller. A friend of mine sent me the link because he knows I like woodworking tools and saw the shop that was closing happened to be somewhat near me. Looks like a pretty giant selection of tools. Everything from big power tools to a few hand tools. I’m not really in the market for anything at the moment, but figured I’d share this in case your deal hounds were looking to score a tool or two....

'This Old Crack House' #40: Sale or no Sale?

05-13-2007 02:21 PM by Dusty | 15 comments »

I have always prided myself in doing a first class job regardless of who I was working for or what I was building. My personal motto has been to build the project like you were doing it for yourself. Still, there comes a time, especially when the budget is tight, when you have to compromise on this work ethic. I am not saying that the quality of the work should change but rather you have to become more realistic with your time, money and efforts, so you don’t bankrupt yourself during t...

Acquiring new tools #1: Anyone been to or going to the Grizzly Tent Sale this Saturday

06-04-2008 09:19 PM by Kevin | 5 comments »

I think I will be heading to Springfield, MO on Saturday for the Grizzly Tent Sale. As long as I can convince the wife not to kick me out afterwards that is. I’m still looking for a 20” planer, and I think I’ll go with the Grizzly. Anyone else going? Anyone else ever been that would have some advice for us newbies? What time to get there is my biggest question? I am going for one very specific item and do not want to miss out on it. Sale is from 8am to 3pm.

Cool deals #1: Good price on shop-vac dust collection stuff

04-03-2008 07:34 PM by flink | 6 comments »

Hi, Hopefully there are some festool addicts with CT’s who’d like to expand their dust collection activities, or maybe just some regular people (that was a joke) who use a decent shop vacuum as their dust collector. Shop-Vac has a price reduction for their Sawdust Collection System. It has a bunch of stuff: http://www.shopvac.com/detail.asp?id=393 (8) 36” clear PVC collection tubes (6) Vacuum gates (5) Tube couplings (3) 45° elbows (4) Tee-y fittings ...
