Cordless tools hangers - for French cleat

03-25-2020 10:26 PM by mafe | 7 comments »

Cordless tools hangersfor French cleat I like good tools and I like order, but most of all, I like to have my tools just where I need them, so I have made a easy to reach setup, by my work / saw table.Recently I bought some Makita 18v cordless tools, this so I can bring then to my allotment house, where there are no electricity, except my generator (I can use it to charge some batteries if I run out of power). I needed a wee reorganization around the work bench and decided that I would ...

Power tools jigs #1: New DIY Fence for my MAKITA MLT100

09-30-2019 01:02 PM by fatmansat | 0 comments »

I know friends this table saw is not professional, but for dyers like me is great. If it were not for that damn lateral guide that is inaccurate and unstable, therefore, it is dangerous.Using it little did not give me problems but now that I have intensified the use, it has been disassembled.Browsing the web I saw many ideas and solutions and I tried to make a summary of them that suited my needs and this is the final result. No, it is certainly beautiful but it is very precise and stable. ...

Makita 1/4 sheet finish sander review

12-15-2015 08:52 AM by Marty Backe | 4 comments »

I just bought a Makita 1/4 sheet finish sander to compliment my Porter-Cable Block Sander (the 330). I wanted a finish sander that had dust collection, and the Makita had good written reviews. I thought a video review might be useful for anybody considering the Makita. The last few minutes of the video provides some thoughts as to why a finish sander (vs a random orbit sander) is still a good choice for the modern workshop.

Woodworking on a Half-Shoestring #3: Makita Banana

09-22-2014 11:11 PM by retired_guru | 6 comments »

So, it finally occurred to me that I should be looking to Craigslist for used tool deals. It’s not like I didn’t know I should. Sometimes, it takes more twacks from the two-by-four. I live in a rural area, in the middle of nowhere, equidistant from anything important. It took a bit of search engine extortion to get listings for my fair little cow country. The best deal was a Makita Model 5008NBA 8-1/4” Circular Saw (less blade) for twenty-five bucks: No...

04-22-2012 02:16 AM by Ryan Haasen | 11 comments »

Today participated in the regional Skills competition in calgary. It was for grades 10-12, I am in grade 10. After 6 hours of work, my box was complete. I brought some beeswax to make my box stand out from the others. The techniques the box required were hand-cut dovetails, rabbet joints, tapers, dados and other regular practices. The box sides are yellow poplar, the ends are cherry and the top and bottom are cherry plywood. I came in bronze (third) and was very happy because this was my fi...

Need your experienced input...

07-11-2008 03:17 AM by woodinit | 14 comments »

Fellow LJ’s:I’ve been shopping the net for a biscuit joiner…and need your input. Here’s what I’ve learned so far: - Porter-Cable has the best handle and power switch arrangement, not to mention top quality – and the price to go with it. It’s probably the top of the list (except Festool’s REALLY high-end thang!) - DeWalt is almost the same tool except the t-handle isn’t on the fence, it’s on the motor. But the fence, motor, switch and price are about the same as PC. - ...
