Hello all, I am new to Lumberjocks and I am posting the first in the video series I am making on YouTube. To-date I have complete three of the videos and am currently working on the fourth. Hopefully to uploaded in a week or so. This is a project my wife inspired me to complete. She wants to make rugs like her grandmother and we were given a very old and beat up Union Loom. So you think your shop is small and maybe your bench isn’t strudy enough? Check out these pics. My wife and oldest daughter recently traveled to China and took these pics for me. These are from a village in south west China near Burma and Tibet. It is a poor but touristy village. They actually stayed with this family for a couple of days. The villagers are ethnic minorities known for their weaving. This guy builds looms for tourists and locals. His wife taught my daughter how they weave...

My Inkle Loom - Need some help getting started

I made the heddles today only to find out the directions must of been in error because I believe they should be twice the length that I ended up with. I really think I need someone to walk me though getting started. Does anyone want to help me that has an Inkle loom in use already? I ended up with heddles loops 6 inches long, I believe they should be about 11 1/2” instead. I believe the heddles are put on by folding them in half and looping over the heddles bar so 6 inches would l...
