I have spent the past week going crazy on my new Oliver 8” Jointer. I can honestly say I don’t know how I ever got by without one. Or better yet why the hell I thought it was a good idea to use wood that wasn’t square. LOL Oh well… In other news I put a deposit down to take Darrell Peart’s Blanket Chest class at Woodcraft in late April. I didn’t write the final post last week as I was pretty busy with my 20th wedding anniversary. Last weekend I had planned on flattening the tops on my last day off but only got half of it done. I had decided to use the router to flatten it, using a sled and rails. I saw the technique on the Wood Whisperer video and thought it was a good idea. Mitre Box, a rehab story #4: Finally...done

Ok..turned the frame over, cleaned out around where the King bolt’s threads come up through….and soaked those for a day….Knee rehab was rough…came home and took a nap…..Next morning,,,tried again….hmmm,getting fed up….grabbed the hammer, and hit right on the head of that bolt, 6-8 times. Had to drive the tip of the BIG screwdriver into the slot, added a pair of visegrips to assist…Uuuuummpf With a loud ” Creeack” bolt came loose...
