02-05-2011 06:13 PM by John_G | 7 comments »

First off let me start by introducing myself. My name is John Gray, i’m currently 33 years old and live in Spencerport New York. I’ve been married to the love of my life for 7 years now and have 2 beautiful daughters (hence the title of my blog “3 girls and a woodworker”). I guess i’ve been into wood working for most of my life, i grew up with a dad that spent a lot of time in the workshop building things. He worked primarily with pine (becasue it was cheap) ...

Intro #1: In the beginning...Hi everyone

04-17-2015 03:26 AM by HisStoryofWood | 3 comments »

HI EVERYONE! Like many, I came here for a resource of knowledge, inspiration, and entertainment. I have always enjoyed doing home projects, more specifically working with wood. If the project name is tiling, I despise you. Growing up it started with bird houses, pinewood derby, and shop class. Now an adult with young children, my time is their time and projects revolve around them or the house. I started with a simple bed and shelves and onto a 12’ tabletop. I now want to get ...

Hello Lumberjocks, I wanted to take this opportunity to say hello and introduce myself. I am a relatively new woodworking enthusiast. I am in process of setting up my shop for the second time. I am a member of a few other on-line communities, but am very excited to be here. I really like the functionality of the site and the level of activity going on here. Other hobbies and interests I have include: Fishing, boating – generally doing the cabin thing (if you live in MN, ...

Allow me to introduce myself

06-24-2010 11:54 AM by MostlyHarmless | 27 comments »

Hello Lumber Jocks! Yet another unexperienced, developing craftsman has arrived to lean on this community and hopefully contribute in a positive way. I’ve signed up here because I’ve found that I’ve been browsing the forums more and more lately and this community looks helpful and friendly. I’m very much a DIY kind of guy and will naively accept any project that I’m completely unprepared for, just for the chance of getting my hands dirty. Last year I boug...

Hello, My name is Jeremy (firm cyber hand shake). This is my first blog entry for my account here at LumberJocks. Short intro. Please excuse my spelling. Spelling has been a struggle for me my whole life.A bit about my self. I was born in Marburg Germany, but have lived the larger part of my life on the west coast of the USA. I love anything I can do with my hands. Pottery, glass work, automotive work, carpentry, cooking, brewing beer… you get the idea. I love to learn and share. I a...

New victim/addict

Happy Monday o/ I recently moved from a teeny one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn Heights to a house in the sticks a few hours north. It’s a lot of space to fill. I get to have a reasonable dresser, a bed AND couch instead of a ratty old futon, etc. I started furniture shopping and my jaw hit the floor. I half jokingly suggested to my favorite bartender that I could outfit a wood shop for the cost of the dresser I wanted and make my own ugly as sin but sturdy and functional furn...

Back to LJ - This Time With Participation!

02-24-2014 09:19 AM by scoobydooo9r | 4 comments »

Howdy all, I just wanted to reintroduce myself here, I joined LJ many years ago and sadly didn’t do anything but lurk. I’m really putting forth an effort to get more involved with the community and share as much as I can from my shop. A couple years ago, I decided that I wasn’t satisfied in my career and began my new occupation as a custom furniture/gift builder. Although that change occurred a couple years ago, I’m still trying to figure out how I want this to wo...

Intro & Shop Tour

03-15-2014 11:56 AM by Chris McDowell | 6 comments »

I have posted 8 videos on YouTube thus far and have never introduced myself. I enjoy watching other woodworkers introduction and shop tour videos, so I thought I might as well do one and get it over with. I give a few facts about myself in my home page here on Lumberjocks, but I go into a little more depth in the video. Watch the video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZIV_OyTaCo

Hello everyone,I have recently been encouraged to join and participate in this great community since I have been making videos for about 6 months now. I’m always looking for new quality channels to subscribe to, so I figured I would introduce myself to the LumberJocks crew. Maybe I have some material that would be of interest to you.I started my YouTube journey when I found the channels for Matthias Wandel and Jimmy Diresta. Now I am making my own material and having a blast doing it...
