Woodworking Interviews #2: Marc Spagnuolo, aka The Wood Whisperer Interview

06-29-2016 09:08 PM by CharlieK | 3 comments »

View on YouTube One of the absolute high points of my 2016 winter road trip was meeting Marc Spagnuolo, aka The Wood Whisperer at his shop outside Phoenix, AZ. One of the cool things about this interview is that he gave some real insights into the Business Side of Woodworking and Woodworking on the Internet. I posted on Facebook when I was in Arizona that I would like to interview another woodworker while I was there. I had heard that Marc lived in the Phoenix area, but I never expec...

Tulsa Area Woodworkers Guild

07-23-2015 08:47 PM by davidcolley | 1 comment »

Does anyone know of a good woodworkers guild in the Tulsa area? OR, is there others out there interested in starting one? I have a few woodworking friends in the are and I know there are many more, but cannot find a way in which they can connect. I was thinking of starting one where local Tulsa area people could meet, discuss projects, etc and perhaps do a couple charity builds a year or so – like build bookcases or benches for local schools or outreach centers etc. Please rep...

09-20-2009 02:25 AM by PurpLev | 28 comments »

With the number of tentatives, and number of cancelations, I knew we’d had less people that I had originally planned for this morning, which was fine, but as high-noon approached, I was pleasantly surprised to see on top of the definite-be-theres, a good presence of LJ’s I did not know had planned to come – that was awesome! All in all we had counted 8 (+1) Lumberjocks (with Daniel’s Wife being the +1 – definitely a +!) it was really nice she came): Spe...

As you all recall, We have been granted the use of the Lexington Woodworker’s Guild for our LJ Picnic Event. I still would like to present them with something in appreciation of the gesture – but am not sure what – any ideas? I would also like to thank Rockler for stepping up and sponsoring us with some goodies that will be raffled between the LJ attendees. Thank you Rockler! This really presents the same great customer service, and positive experience I’ve b...

May have recruited a new member, joined a guild and might've gotten us a sponsor

Friday I snuck, yes snuck over to Jonhnsons Workbench in Charlotte, Michigan, about an hours drive from my house. They are the biggest place close to me that carry Rockler, Woodcraft, Veneering products, dowelmax supplies, epoxies in quanities as well as ca glues in quantites, barrel hinges etc, etc. anyway after going crazy and about 400.00 dollars later, that we did’nt really have to spend. I decided I’d better stop and and just look around. While doing so, and it getting nigh ...

Presentation to the Delaware Woodworking Guild.

04-29-2007 11:05 PM by Karson | 7 comments »

Ethan made a comment awhile back that if you get a chance you should join a Woodworking Guild. I went looking and I never found one one in my area. Surprise. I received a phone call 2 days ago asking if I would make a presentation at the Delaware Woodworking Guild, on the Cradle / Glider that I made to win the First LumberJock contest, and was presented in the February Issue of Woodcraft magazine. I told them yes. So if you are close to Northern Delaware on the third Wed of May, May ...
