Building My Kids' Playhouse #2: Bought the Materials

I plan on starting the playhouse this weekend. I got all the lumber delivered today. Since the weather isn’t looking great for the next two days, I’ll probably just do a lot of measuring, marking and cutting of wood. I’m also going to try to prep the site where the playhouse will go. With the exception of paint, hinges, tar paper, LP smart trim and door latches, I have already purchased everything I need. I’m big on having lots of various size and finish fastene...

Platform Bed #1: Initial framing

Bedroom and bathroom done. I’ll start the living room/kitchen remodel in the spring. What to do in the meantime? Make a bed of course.In my mind… which is where these things always are, the bed will be maple with two large drawers on one side. The head ends will have 3 small cubbies on each side as it is impractical for us to have bedside tables because one side is up against the wall and the other side edges a window. Hand forged Timber Framing tools, chisels and slicks

I and my friend (master blacksmith) made chisels and a slick for my upcoming Timber Framing project. He made the steel parts. I made handles and leather tip guards. In my opinion chisels and the slick came out very high quality. So the idea was born – to make my own Timber Framing hand tool workshop were we could manufacture high quality fully hand made tools.
