Odds 'N' Ends #3: DeWalt DW735 Planer Blade Rotation

01-23-2016 05:25 PM by ThomasLightle | 2 comments »

Note: I was going to narrate this video, but I think it speaks for itself, and I really like how the music synced up to it, so I left it as-is. You can voice your opinion below about this different format. I ran a couple thousand feet of yellow pine through my planer for the past 6 months and it was time to rotate my blades before tackling an upcoming project using red oak. If you have seen my previous video about cleaning blades, you know how nasty yellow pine is. I took the opportunit...

State of the shop and yay to new toys

07-04-2014 05:45 AM by Sanding2day | 3 comments »

My mother is set to semi retire at the end of this month and requested assistance removing some items from her home in order to increase her ability to change locations more effectively. Happy to assist and believed most of the items could be sold for an amount greater than the UHaul expense but was unfortunately incorrect on this. This planer has indexable insert knives, and I’ve never flipped them before. I’ve probably run a few thousand board feet through the original set. While it still cuts fairly ...

My DW735

04-14-2008 01:32 PM by flink | 7 comments »

Well, this weekend I made some progress on reorgnaizing my basement. I moved some 2×10x14 foot lumber destined to replace some damaged floor joists from workstands dividing the basement to a dead space along side the wall next to my tablesaw. Now that the lumber is moved, I had room to finally unpack my DW735. All I can say is wow. I can’t wait to run some nice maple through for the faceframes of my kitchen cabinets. I am curious, though. Why did Dewalt ever think that this t...
