Where to Buy Screws

I mostly purchase general construction screws from Menards, the Star-bit drive ones because they don’t cam out on me like the Phillips heads do. I get them there for $3.79 per one pound box, a great price for a good screw. However, they don’t carry any shorter than 1 3/4”, so I tried at Home Depot. I found some star drive screws there for $5.78 per one pound box and they had 1”, 1 1/4”, and 1 5/8” sizes, so I was quite pleased. The price was also pretty decent in my estimation. Digging into something I began last summer, I had 3 legs to turn. The first one jumped out from between the centers about three times. I was using the drive spur I made when I first contrapted my turning set up. Before I began turning the second leg, I remembered hearing that in a drill powered set up like mine, that a spade bit could also work.
