You can get on Youtube and see a lof of waterfall slabs. What you won’t find on Youtube is a way to cut a slab where you don’t have two straight edges on a REALLY LONG slab – like almost 7’ long. In my testing with my Festool track saw and an 8’ track, I was not satisfied with the straightness of the 45 degree bevel. Nightstands

Let’s talk about nightstands. I’m doing a bedroom set using 3 large slabs of Chestnut. I went out trying to get inspiration but nightstands are the most boring thing ever. I must have looked through a thousand different nightstands and they all follow the same 2-3 patterns, if just using a different wood species. Spring Bench #1: Building a bench around an 1800's wagon spring

My friend Leon Kytle in Idaho Falls gave me this old spring from a wagon seat from the 1800’s and asked me to design a bench around it and give him the plans so he could build one too around the other spring. I drew it up in Arizona with the bend up and down and decided it looked better with it bent down. I made us templates of the spring curve and gave him a drawing of how I was going to make it. I call this my third child because as I’m nearing the finish line with this we have had two children, my wife quit her job to stay home with the kids, and I’ve gone through a job change (with promotion). With all that has gone on this poor project has had more off time than on, but now I am so close to the finish line I can taste it.
