The columns are 28” long and taper from about 2-1/2” at the bottom to about 1-3/4” at the top. The rough blanks were about 3” square and 31” long. I haven’t done much turning and I can’t turn as efficiently as some people, but given enough time I was able to figure it out! The trick was getting them EXACTLY the same length! A friend of mine studied Tae Kwon Do when he was younger and graduated up to Junior Black-belt. Now he has a bunch of colored belts and I decided to build him a rack where he can display them. I searched the internet for ideas and even got a few good ideas from the LJ fourm. I like the one that phamat built for his son I found similar designs through a Google search. I decided to make it a wall hung display rack because I don’t know where he would be able to put it if it were free...
