"Hobbit Holes in MyWorld" --by RusticWoodArt #53: Barn Cat in Training and More....

08-10-2009 04:06 AM by frank | 12 comments »

Barn Cat in Training and More…. I might as well introduce a new member in my barn and tell you some of her history. To start out with it might also help if I was to explain that the barn you are seeing here is an English Barn dated from around 1780. My wife and I started gutting this barn back in 2000 and then while I was on the road most of that winter, she along with a crew took the barn down in about a weeks time after numbering all the bents. Next after taking a year to get o...

"Slabbin' at Wood" #3: "Slab Wood Tales" --by RusticWoodArt

09-24-2007 02:16 PM by frank | 12 comments »

Slab Wood Tales ....in the working of the wood, the stories of those who came before me, are revealed as enlightened nuggets of wisdom, where ‘ancient ones’ give thanks by offering to tell me their tales…. So today I thought I would travel some ground….or is that lay some ground work here and post some pictures. I’m going to throw in a plug here and say thanks to Zooomr for all their work that they have done, and have made available to all. Using this site ...

"Old Growth and the Ancient Ones" --by RusticWoodArt

09-18-2007 03:37 AM by frank | 11 comments »

Old Growth and the Ancient Ones ....’old growth’ that I have found! While out Sunday afternoon in the forest here, we (my wife and I) set out to discover some new territory in the surrounding habitat of the woods and I happened to come upon some pines that were growing on an eastern slope of a hill. At the bottom of a ravine I first spotted an old pine that had escaped the logging crews of yesteryear. At first I thought this one was the only one out there, but after looking ...

"Hobbit Holes in MyWorld" --by RusticWoodArt #5: "Untrammeled Possibilities and Unexpended Opportunities"

05-03-2008 12:15 PM by frank | 11 comments »

Untrammeled Possibilities and Unexpended Opportunities ....out here is where i was first awakened, awakened to what-where-when and why, awakened to all the un-trammeled possibilities that call my name, awakened to the un-expended opportunities i gather to…. Out here silence starts off as a thing of beauty, but the silence soon passes on to a sound of great talking going on between the different players in this outside play of nature…. ....walking the woods out here is...

"Journeys into the Joints of Joineries" by RusticWoodArt #1: "Wood Joinery"

06-08-2007 02:11 PM by frank | 11 comments »

Wood Joinery ....as told by one who was a misfit all his-elfin-self, till one day while out walking in the forest of dark woods gathering branch wood, he ran into the spirit of an ‘old timer’ who saw into the recesses of this one’s heart, and from that day forth i have never left the deep woods of wood joinery…. Having an imagination that is vivid and livid with complete color scale has at times been both a curse and a blessing, till one day getting tired of shif...

Intarsia Basics #5: Welcome back, Let's Start Adding Spacers and Shaping Our Pieces

05-24-2012 03:01 AM by KoryK | 11 comments »

Thanks for joining in again and I apologize for the delay. Hand is doing a lot better and it feels great to be back in the shop. Thanks for your patience and your encouragement to get better. In this section we will focus on shaping and sanding our pieces. In my opinion, this is the most important part of the process. Depth is what makes a piece really stand out and the more depth you use in your project the better you’re going to like the end result. We have all seen intarsia pieces...

Wooded Mixed Quantum Anomalies ....i am as a sliver ridding on the finger of your wind, come blow the expression of your breath across my face, till in the utterance of an all knowing mind, there remains that never un-changing desire of limitless grace…. —-can this rogue of a past thought that waited to captivate, be any movement of great consequence in the dilemma of need, since by your giving breath as life-givin’ acutilobate, i am extolling the virtues of finding my...

Woods of Cellular Best ....in passing this way i thought to stop, for it seems that ere was the way has become my way, and in this passing of journeys across your silken mountain top, you called my attention to the valley below of wooden flowered bouquet…. —-and so i descended to their pastures of green, where played the children of adam’s bequest, toiling daily was one i found working the boneyards of forest serene, when taking notice of my watching he asked for one requ...
