no previous part Part 1 of Entertainment Center series Part 2: Cabinent #3 Carcass »

Been busy with day job, so not much progress on existing projects. Two new projects added to my list (WEPs). Building a “Earthbox Planter” i.e., self watering raised bed planner box and a entertainment center for downstairs to hold games, books and videos.

This weekend I finished out one of the carcasses for two of the three cabinets and nearly completed a second. These are again supersized ;-)

Additionally I build a dual sided 8” saw board to handle full sheet goods breakdown. I find this safer and easier to do than push a 4×8 sheet through a table saw, even with a sliding table. The Saw Board is dual sided so I can use two different circular saws (Ryobi 5 1/2” One+ cordless and a Craftsman Industrial 7 1/4 corded). I typically use the cordless most days as its much lighter to push around, then switch to the Craftsman when I need some HD power for cutting. I place the sheet on my assembly bench with some bench cookies underneath clampdown the board and the job is done….not as fast as a panel saw…but no where near the price either. Considering converting the thing to a home made panel saw specific to the type of sheet goods breakdown I do in the future…who knows.
