« Part 1: Stage One Part 2 of Assembly Table series no next part

Saw a cool idea on Stumpy Nubs YouTube. A downdraft table imbedded into another table. I think that will make a great addition to my assembly table. I think I can cut out a section to add the downdraft table and a piece of Masonite to cover the holds when not needed to make a flush surface. Floated the idea with Drew (Rock-n-H Woodshop) we’ll see what he has to say. He built a better version assembly bench not tool long ago.

Already working on how-to build a new fixture to insert and expand my Kreg Jig so I can work really long pieces. When I was building the deep cabinets bracing 6+ ft. long boards as I slid those through the jig was problematic.

In general my idea is to increase the modularity of the assembly bench so all the common jigs and tools snap in. Had a wild though about building in my Router Table as an insert but that would be more of a hassle to take in and out
