The first picture is where my new addition 24’x36’ attaches to my old unattached shop which is 22’x46’ with a two car garage. I have it weather tight but the inside is not finished. I will finish siding the old part after I replace all the doors and windows in the spring.

The second and third pictures are of the existing shop. In the second you can see where I remove three widows to make the opening between buildings. In the third picture it is shot from the new addition and you can see the opening, at the far end, to the existing garage.

The forth and fifth are pictures inside the new addition.

The last photo is looking into the attached garage where I have lumber storage and outdoor equipment.

I still don’t have final plans for the equipment layout but I’m thinking of moving my wood storage, planner and joiner into the old work area. Then in the new area I would like to make a finishing room and the rest of the equipment. I hope no one minds but I will probably use some great Ideas I see from this site.

Larry, you sure should have enough room now! Bet you will have fun turning that into a woodworking heaven.
Thanks for the preview.

Larry, from the looks of it you are going to have a shop space that most of us would find enviable. Your current shop looks pretty good but the additional area that you are adding is going to give you plenty of room in which to work. How about posting some more pictures when you get your layout finalized?

Thanks for the comments. I’m retiring in a year so the added space will be great and I will be sure to keep everyone informed with my shop construction progress.

As for the Delta 34-444 contractor saw I got mine about the same time Charlie got his. I like what he did to his and I hope to improve mine. I would like a bigger newer saw but I haven’t found anything I can’t do with mine so far. Because of space limitations I have made some out feed and wing attachment and use them when cutting larger sheet goods. I still have the standard fence and have learned to adjust the parallel so I see no need replacing it yet. I do have a power twist link belt and I’m very happy with it. I think the key for any table saw is getting the best blade possible and keeping it sharp. Also if you are doing ripping get a dedicated ripping blade.

greetings from Batavia! Boy, I envy you with that addition you have there. I like to think that I’ll have the opportunity to add on. Having more room to maneuvre and for serious storage has always been a concern for me, and I would just love to have a finishing room, away from the mess. i’m sure you’re providing for heating. best of luck.
