Short entry for today. I did a lot today, but it was without the visual impact of usual days. I milled up some planks for a shelf under the bench.

Then I turned my bench into a Foosball table by gluing the skirts in place.

I glued up the blank for the deadman today and will get it put in place tomorrow.

Take care and have fun woodworking.

Brian, how do you like the criss cross? I get almost no sag when it is open fully.

Also, what is your reasoning behind having the shelf flush with the top edge of the stretchers. I was concerned about tools rolling off or getting bumped and hitting the floor.

I like shape of the vise chop, classy and yet practical.

What’s the gizmo on the benchtop on the first photo? Toolbox?

The shelf actually sits about 1/8” proud of the stretchers. I didn’t want to create a sawdust basket under the bench. I don’t think I have any tools that would roll out from under there. That doohickey on the bench in the first picture is my saw vise. I will try to get a picture of it today.
