Well….I do have a couple block planes still with their oem boxes…Not sure I’d do something like that one. The other box is a bit ratty… And it will only hold one plane…but…Thought I could resaw the scrap Pine boards in the shop, down to 1/4” thick, and make a few boxes to store some of my block plane “collection” in….have 14 ( last count) but maybe just the better ones will get their own little box… Some of the resaws&#...

Part 2: Lid is done, first box done..

At this rate, it might be Labor Day when the last one is done…..IF I don’t buy any more of the little things.. Went with a wider chisel, fewer fingers to do. Instead of 1/8”, now about 1/4” wide…..matches the thickness of the Pine boards… Bandsaw to make a lot of short cuts, easier to chop out. I can control the cuts better, and see how they look better. All 4 corners were done, so a glue up was made, without the “topper”...then, on...

Part 3: Box #2

Not moving too well….the face plant on my sidewalk ( sober, BTW) seems to have messed a few parts I need to order to build a box or two..Fingers on the box were a bit wider, than before….less chopping required. Managed to get the 4 sides to where I could glue them up…and add the bottom to the box…. May have had too many the sides bowed in a bit… Got the box all sanded square and smooth…and did a test fit…to see which plane ...

Part 4: Box #2, lid completed

Not working as fast or as long as I used to…but…had the parts all cross cut to size…time to start making box joints Used this 1/4” chisel, to lay out the fingers….then a bandsaw to make a lot of cuts…seems to help when I chop the waste out…. Got these two corners done…then the Boss needed to go to the store…came back and tried the last two corners… When I laid out the fingers for the #3 corner….somehow the part got fli...
