Ok, back in 2015, I picked a vise up at a Tractor Fest…..And got it installed on the end of my bench..where I do most of my work…. And was informed this couldn’t be an end vise…hasn’t a place for a dog to go…so.. A chunk was added to the moving jaw…and a few dog holes drilled. Part 2: The other jaw done

Finally got a day to finish the vise rehab…had to tear out the old. First, the moving part was removed… And set aside…which left this.. Layer of Pine. I had chopped out a place for the vise to sit behind….screws holding it in place were all buggered up..Chisel to split off the “veneer”, and a pair of Visegrips to remove the screws…right into a trashcan. Was able to remove the two lags from under the vise…and set them aside…with ...
