Part 1: start up with some scraps

Ok. Had a few Pine scraps…too large for the fire pit, might as well build something…one plank was a might too narrow, and a bit too thin…..and had a big old knot.. Knot had to go…cut the “good” ends at 8” long….The other boards? A 1×10,,,had a few issues….a pitch pocket, and a knot just waiting to fall out….board #3? Also had those two issues, plus a wany edge…the 1×4 will be used as a stretcher….marked...

Part 2: Day 2 and three

Both trips to the shop were a bit short….one was governed by how long the dryer needed to run…the other was until the back said STOP. Got the panel out of the clamps…and planed flat. .Still using that same old plane…Stretcher got some lines drawn on it, and sent to the bandsaw…came back like this.. Used it to lay out for two mortises.. Note to self: LEAVE the lines…better fit that way… Dry fit…also marked which way the wedges will g...

Part 3: Day #4, glue ups, clean ups, and a PIP?

4 days to build a simple, little stool? getting slow?Ok, wasn’t too happy with the surface left by the spokeshave…..ran this router around, with the smallest round-over bit I had.. Even rounded over both the top and bottom edges of the top… And, each part was sanded to 180 grit….then the glue….discovered later that one wedge was too fat…as I hammered in the two to connect the stretcher to the legs…..OOoooops. I did get all 6 wedges in place...
