some miter joints cut.

Clamps came off….needed to turn the case a bit, so I can install the cleats for the bottom panel to sit on…so..

I have 4 large Mitre Boxes…and can not access any of them at the moment….so..

We have ways. Last year, I rehabbed this little mitrebox, and redid the saw, including sharpening it…will so how well this works…Miller Falls No. 1816….

Cleats…1×1s….miter the ends, glue them into place..to hold a 1/4” plywood panel for the case’s bottom..

Works out that a clamp helps out as a 3rd hand…

Seems to work out well enough..

First the 2 long cleats are installed..

Just glue, no screws. then mark the cleats for the ends….and saw and install..

This one needed cauls, more to keep the clamps from marking the “good” wood…the other one?

The clamps still had their rubber pads…didn’t need the cauls.

Hmmm, clamps sticking out everywhere…usually right where I want to want by….

Flip this up, and turn it so the clamps are no longer a threat to leave the mark on me….them bars will cut you…

Let this sit overnight…hope the floor is drier..

As I’ll need to sit the case down on the floor, to clean up all them glue joints….and change out the dull DeWalt saw blade for..

A new saw blade.

Then I can cut the plywood panel to size, and get it glued in place into the bottom of the chest…and onto these cleats…may or may not involve any screws..

Then see about a lid….stay tuned
