« Part 5: From one glue up to the next Part 6 of Scrap Bin Refugees series Part 7: Starting Box #2 »

Among other things…
Lid came out of the clamps..checked for fit.
And once it was all squared up, tried it on the box….Checking for gaps….seems the box needed a little leveling..

Seems to be 2 corners..we have ways..

Gap Removal Tool…lid fits down with no rocking going on…Might as well attach the lid..

2 hinges, tiny screws…and a few tools…then turn the box over, without moving anything (tricky..)

Install a latch…and hope it works..

Top of the lid has some showy grain…

Was trying to get it to “wrap around” to the front….Decided to add a coat of amber shellac…so…

A PIP…Inside was done first…

Then the outside including the bottom of the box…

And the ends..

And let this sit a spell….

Maybe later, I’ll rub this out, then a second coat?

Stay tuned…almost ready to start Box #2…

Looks like you leveled it out there. Nice job.

Good looking box Bandit. Like you I’ve got a bunch of wood sitting around to make into boxes. Some of it I think I’ll glue up for band saw boxes.

Have your say...
