« Part 16: Lid attached, other hardware, and a PIP? Part 17 of A Project for August, Tool Chest series no next part

getting this wrapped up, and about ready to send upstairs….I did try the compartment out, to see how a group of planes would fit…

2 Smoothers ( KK 4, and Millers Falls No. 9) 2 Jack planes ( Millers Falls No. 15, WR #62) a Block plane(Stanley 9-1/2)and a Stanley #80 scraper….About doubled the weight of the tool chest…

Coat of Clear Gloss Poly has dried, was rubbed down with some fine grit sandpaper..

getting rid of all them nibs…I also used a buffer to shine things up a bit…

There are three of these Padlocks..

There is a 4th one as a spare ( ain’t he cute?) all keyed the same. Key Safe to store the keys….

Must have been a Rolling Stones’ song playing somewhere?

As in..”Paint it Black” just the back of the case….too much “naked” plywood…

Waiting on that to dry…may get a touch-up…depends on how it looks. Then haul this upstairs, and then add the drawers..and start to load this thing up…Photos when done?

Thanks for looking in…

Drawers, and compartment…as loaded..
Compartment filled up..

Lots of goodies..There is even a Chain Drill…..added a length of chain for “lid control”..

Drawer #3 merely has a handful of auger bits….and a lot of room…Drawer #1?

Some Yankees…some Millers Falls….#2?

Then a few drills..

Bottom drawer look almost empty…

Millers Falls No.9, Type 3….Stanley Defiance No.4size..not sure what “Type” it is

Goal is to have a place for most of the smaller yard sale “finds” to call home once they come in the door….
