« Part 6: We have glue up! Part 7 of A Project for August, Tool Chest series Part 8: Drawer Build 102, I hate Mondays »

Going to be a few of these Drawer Building blogs….each has it’s own set of issues….First off, need a few parts milled up….to see how far I can get….with what is left of the lumber stash…so..

We have a few blanks for drawer fronts….need a few sides..

7 out of the 10 I needed…still a couple fronts short…

Bring another plank to the shop. Even milled backs for the top 2 drawers….that need to be quite a bit thinner than the sides…

Dovetails to connect the fronts to the sides….did NOT start out too well..

Was having issues setting up the router table…next set were a tad bit better..

Turned out, the router bit was at the wrong height…..adjusted it upwards a bit more…things went better….stuck with these, though…Need grooves to house the plywood bottom….

Then the same for the sides…

Fun part came when doing the dado s to house the back….spurs were either too dull, or too short…made no marks either way…had to mark the lines..and SAW the lines..

And..this saw even wanted to fight…got the Disston D8 Panel saw out….no issues..

Repeat for the other side…was trying to get drawer #2 done, at least…got a dry fit…

Back had issues…was NOT flat…

At first tried to just plane it flat…wound up at the tablesaw..and resaw the extra off…then things fit…marked and cut a plywood bottom…

Then went ahead and just glue this up…and, let it sit a day….Monday morning will be a Lumber Run…..getting low…down to just one plank..

Stay tuned…I was in the shop that Monday evening….with the normal Monday Results…
