« Part 6: Rebate, and some grooves Part 7 of A Project for March series Part 8: Build a drawer »

getting a bit of an “update” spread over the past 2 days….Day #1….

had a cheap paint brush handy…spread the glue in and around all the dovetails, and one rebate…then that forest of clamps shows up…

About all I could do then…was just let it sit overnight….This morning was also Laundry Detail…0900hrs sharp. Load up the washer, unload the clamps..

Work on cleaning up the corner joints…will address the front of the plywood bottom in a little bit…

Kept working my way around, checking for square….filling any holes..

Getting there….part of the problem with getting square…sides had bowed out a bit, with nothing to hold them in place…so, I have to make a filler for across the plywood bottom….cut a scrap to about the right length, added a small rebate on each end..

Ok, I also wanted this to wrap around under the plywood, as a support….jigged the scrap up..

Scrap is wide enough, those screws won’t get in the way….Stanley 45 to make a rebate….

2 width settings, in fact. Then mark for width in front of the plywood…rip the excess of…and try a dry fit..

See what I mean about the sides being bowed out a bit? Underneath?

So, Cheap brush to spread some glue…add some clamps..

And leave this sit a day…..Blog is a bit long, so I’ll stop right here ( washer was done, loaded up the dryer..)

Next episode? Started building a drawer…from these parts…

That’s next time…..stay tuned..
