Yep, Door #2 came out of the clamps looking great…

Even the inside looked better…

Figured I could set both doors on the case, just to see how things would look…

Hmmm…something wasn’t quite right…tried to set both doors..but they would not line up with either the top or bottom shelves AND the sides of the case….got to checking the case itself…..1/4” out of square…grrr.

Decided to at least install one door…Hinge tools?

The hand tool section, and the..

Power tool section….hammer and chisel to chop most of the waste from the hinge mortise, then the router cleaned it up…

Then repeat 3 more times…

Then…needed to go and buy a sheet of plywood, before the second door could be installed…trimmed to size, leaving a good square corner and two straight edges…glue and screw one edge in place..

So that the other side had the gap at the top corner. Then a pipe clamp to pull that gap closed..

Couple more turns should about do it…then glue and screws to keep it that way….while I work on the hinges of door #2…that I had to narrow down a bit….the 2 doors were wider than the case!....

First a hole for the towel bar…and install that..

The the hinges for the second door were installed…

I had, in order to narrow the door a bit on the latch side, ripped the bead off….took the time to plane a new one in it’s place….somehow, during the ploughing and the hinging…the latch stile came loose…grrr..more clamps and glue..

Have to wait a day, now…for the repair to cure….

Stay tuned…
