Late night Laundry Detail….wound up almost 3 hours long….had 2 loads to wash and dry…..good, I can hide out in the shop until they are …done..
Dovetails?
well, I lay out the pins first, of course…
Can either use the marking gauge to scribe a baseline ( that I will abuse..)or…
Use a knife and a square to do the “Knife wall” way of marking…..then a saw..
When doing the pins, I try to split the lines….most of the time….As long as they will mark out the tails correctly..
Then a selection of chisels…
First chops are on the show side…
About halfway down…to prevent any blowouts, when I chop from the “inside”..
Then stand this up onto the side piece…trace around the pins ( mark the waste!) then the bandsaw can remove all the waste…enough for a dry fit..
Rinse and repeat…
For corner number 2….yes, I label each corner, both pieces….that way, I don’t try to use end corner 1 in side corner 4….
Halfway done…down to the last dryer loading….
This, however, is proving to be a tricky problem….that is also a dovetail shaped object…
Last load was done, time to close up shop
Stay tuned….
