Finally. That broken panel has been fixed, last rebate done, too…..then fussed around with a dry fit, until..

It actually did fit…even the “Inside” looked good..

next panel….tried to flatten a face…there was a large knot over in one corner….planes were having issues with it..

Decided to “cheat” a bit, will still involve hand planes, but…..tablesaw blade was tilted to 15 degrees, or so…to use the zero clearance overlay, I need to let the saw cut a better slot…then, set up the fence about 1/2” away from the bottom of the blade….then slide the panel through on it’s 4 edges…..trying to match the bevel on the handplaned panel…then reset everything, and cut the 1/4” x 1/4” rebate….then over to the bench…planed the saw marks off the bevels, and clean up the rebates..

Worked my way around to get each the same…more test fits….some cussing, more test fit….problem being the panel was a hair to big along one edge….finally..

Everything seems to fit…still had one “foot” to finish cutting…

Instead of a sharp square corner…a more curvy one is in order….
then knock the dry fit apart, clear off the assembly “table” and start to glue and clamp things up….big pipe clamps under the frame…f clamps and a larger pipe clamp on top….hammer assists as needful center stile was having issues entering it’s mortises….got persuaded to move a bit to the left…and it popped right in…

Assembly table is my tablesaw….biggest, flattest surface IN the shop..

getting this big clamp under those F clamps was..fun…
Will let this mess sit a day or so ( that “Monday” thing) I might try to scoot the table back a bit..

yeah…right….can’t even sweep that part of the floor, right now….oh well

need to repeat the above and build 3 more frames, and get them glued up…maybe “One-a-day” sort of thing?
Stay tuned…

Well, progress is progress. You’re at least one day closer to being done, and it’s looking good so far.
