no previous part Part 1 of A box for chisels series Part 2: Dovetail work... »

Had a bunch of “second-line” chisels..

While not “Premium” by any means, they deserve something a little better than just rolling around in a drawer, somewhere. Since there was still some Poplar left over from the last projects…

Thought I could cobble a box with these….bench had been cleaned off….99% of the tools I would need were put away…..and the doors closed up…

Time to go..”shopping”....Opened those doors back up, and see what I’ll need to get out…before the doors slam shut, again..

Well, the door on the right held hammers and drills…I’ll need a mallet..

Turn to the left a bit….I’ll need a couple marking tools, including a bevel gauge, and a marking gauge…

In the Red Rack, there were a couple small squares, below that, a marking knife….Saws?

Might need a coping saw, later, but.

For right now, I’ll need that Disston No. 68, Dovetail saw…..lay the tools over on the bench, as I went along, not really a shopping cart, but, it will have to do..and close the doors..

Needed to set up a work light, right over where I’ll be working..

So that I’m not working in me own shadow…...Also, got out the shop stool, and cleaned the seat off…as I like to sit down while doing “Joinery Work”

While most of the ends were sawn square…..there was one that somehow avoided that…we have ways..

Time to move most of the tools to the Tool Well, where they aren’t tempted to simply roll off the bench….

Next Episode? Hand cut through dovetails…

Stay tuned…
