« Part 1: Starting up Part 2 of Pipe tap & die box series Part 3: Feeling Groovy »

Time to build a box….gather the toys..

Just the usual suspects….

Pins first, of course. Chisels are to set the spacing of the pins….finish marking things out..

Disston No. 68 to make a few cuts…set up a chopping block..

Chop down 1/2 way on the show side, flip over and chop the rest of the waste out…

Clean up with a small rasp. Use this to lay out the matching tails. Leave the pencil lines by cutting on the waste side. then more chopping going on…

All cleaned up. Time for that first dry fit..

1 down, 3 corners to go. After the second corner, I stopped to make sure the rack will fit in the box…

Then the other 2 corners were made…

And that was it. Next up? Involves this plane getting groovy…

As each side will get 2 grooves….one for the bottom panel, and one for the lid’s raised panel…
That will be in the next episode….stay tuned…
