Seems between both my Late FIL , and my Late Dad…..I had amassed a collection of these things.

And..

Plus about a dozen Dies..
.
The old case I made a long time ago, was being overwhelmed …

And, an old Ford parts box just wouldn’t do…

So…went out to Lowes, and bought some Poplar “Project” lumber…

Wound up getting two more of the 1/2” x 5-1/2” x 24” planks, and a 2×2 x 3’

The goal for that 2×2? I intend to stand all the taps straight up, by drilling a series of holes to fit the shanks of the taps. The “extra” 2 planks are to build a box just for the pipe threaders…

I figure 3 rows of “normal” taps, with two gaps inbetween, to holder the wrenches, and the Dirty Dozen Dies….

First off, though…I need to sift through all those taps….the ones I can’t read the sizes on, and the ones I have too many of the same size…will get sent elsewhere…made quite a “box full”

Already on their way to Georgia. Which left these….

Coarse and fine threads, mostly starters, some #2….no bottoming ones…oh well. Ranging from that #6 tap up to the 7/8” pair….had two smaller wrenches…but, they would only fit the 2 smallest taps…

Which left the other wrench..

Which only fit the smaller half of these….will be out looking for a larger wrench..later.

First order of business….is to clear off the top of my bench, haul the trash can and scooper to the shop…and clean the floor..

“Clean up ! Aisle No. 1!”

Then the “woodworking” can begin….
Stay tuned…
