no previous part Part 1 of Using up Leftovers series Part 2: Back to work, one hour at a time.. »

Started out as just a Project for July….take what was left over from the last projects…resaw the “scraps” down into something more useful than Fire Pit Kindling…

Mainly cut-offs from too long of Ash planks..had some Pine scraps, too…

Resaw….Set the 1×4 x 6’ Pine aside. Set up the tablesaw to cut a kerf centered on the other boards…and ran all I could through the set up, doing all 4 edges…

Tablesaw set-up…blade as high as it can go, 1/4” plywood zero clearance overlay. Ash and the 1×6 Pine were all ran through…Ash..

These lacked about an inch from being sliced all the way through….same with the Pine…Thought was the bandsaw could complete the cuts..
.
For the smaller parts, and the Pine, this worked….still would have to plane the center down smooth…However,,,the larger Ash planks had an issue with a wider blade ( brand new, too) as the blade would NOT follow the kerf…back to the 1/4” blade….completed most of one out of the two cuts….then the motor on the bandsaw died…..which left..

The Cardio Workout Machine…even if it has been freshly sharpened…

Things were going downhill….started to plane this mess smooth….

Gave up….because I wasn’t feeling so good…....
Went up to Urgent Care here in town…..next thing I know I over at the ER…..with a form of Sugar Dehydration…
results of the 3 day stay? I now have Type 2 Diabetes.. Got back home, and took a few more days to rest up..

Start..stop( bandsaw), start (handsaw) stop…...Was finally able to do a little work in the shop a few days ago, so, this is a way to get things caught up. All resaws are done…bandsaw is still down( have a spare motor, just need time to swap them out) Couple Estate Sales raided…was finally able to do a full afternoon IN the shop..TODAY.

So, in the next episode, I try to catch up a few items…
Stay tuned (fingers are getting sore, from getting poked)
