« Part 2: Lid is done, first box done.. Part 3 of Block plane box series Part 4: Box #2, lid completed »

Not moving too well….the face plant on my sidewalk ( sober, BTW) seems to have messed a few parts I need to move..in order to build a box or two..
Fingers on the box were a bit wider, than before….less chopping required. Managed to get the 4 sides to where I could glue them up…and add the bottom to the box….

May have had too many clamps..as the sides bowed in a bit…

Got the box all sanded square and smooth…and did a test fit…to see which plane would indeed fit…

A Shelton No. 118…..Sides were a bit snug, though….so a wide chisel was used to pare the sides a bit wider on the inside of the box. Plane now has a slight bit of wiggle room.

Still hobbled a bit…and with all the rains lately…

Dungeon Creek was on the rise. all headed to the corner…

Where the floor drain is….don’t feel like working with wet feet, and power tools….will wait on the creek to subside…
Tonight, crosscuts were made, for the 4 sides of the box’s lid…..using the Stanley #358 mitre box….

May try tomorrow, floor permitting, to chop a few more finger joints, and try for a glue up? We’ll see

Had the knee drained yesterday….didn’t help all that much….leg is still messed up, and sore. I guess I don’t bounce on concrete sidewalks, anymore…..I tend to need help standing back up.
Stay tuned…

Yo bandit, you sure that’s a creek and not a raging river… seems to have flooded my workshop too,
