Can of stain has been stirred up, and used. Couple trouble spots fixed. Hinges were re-located….yeah, about time to show off a bit…I added some “feet” to the bottom of the box…
Nothing fancy, though…Hinges were moved a bit..
With the result that they can prop the lid open…next, was the drawer’s problems…
Had to plane a bit, to get a better fit, without it getting stuck…There used to be a square hole, beside the right top corner of the opening…the “extra” groove was filled…by attaching the “guide strip” to the drawer..
Can you see it? That is the idea….
A view of the back….nothing special here..
Kind of like the way the grain almost lines up.
Stain has been wiped down, letting it dry overnight..and see about a top coat or two, tomorrow?
Then I’ll post the “finished” box over in Projects…as the woodworking part is about done…
Thanks for following along!

That looks really sharp. Ordinarily, I’m not a big red oak fan (seen too much bedroom furniture and entertainment centers made out of it in the last 30 years!) However, that grain has a nice classic look to it. Well done!

Hmmm…pins first..

I like pins first, I get a better, tighter fit that way…I did tails first on this Sellers box because that was the way Paul Sellers did his version….Next project? Going back to pins first..
